The construction of Candarli Port Container Terminal (north Aegean) will be contracted by Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, General Directorate of Infraestructure Investments within the framework of BOT (Build-Operate and Transfer Model).
Candarli Port Project was prioritized as a hub-port because will serve to Aegean region and will be hub for transit cargo to Black sea countries.
The first part of the project has constructed by the Turkish State and the cost was 165 million euro. The capacity of the port will be 2 million TEU in first phase and 4 million in the fourth phase.
BOT investment will include made up-ground, buildings, warehouses, storage areas, railway terminal, docks, dock crane, rubber wheeled crane, handling equipment, ship service boats, tow boats and etc…
The Environmental Impact Assessment of the Project was approved on 17th March 2005 and the deadline for submission is 5th November, 2013.
